Role Description
The nutritionist will be part of the Comuna Project Foundation team and will be responsible for designing and implementing food and nutrition education strategies for girls, adolescents, and their families, with a comprehensive focus on health and well-being.
Responsibilities:
- Design and lead healthy eating workshops adapted to vulnerable contexts and local food cultures
- Monitor the nutritional development of girls in the Girls’ Empowerment School
- Raise awareness among parents and caregivers about healthy, sustainable, and affordable dietary practices
- Identify malnutrition risks (deficiency or excess) and propose individual or group interventions
- Support the evaluation of nutritional status (height, weight, habits)
- Collaborate with universities and institutions to strengthen the nutritional component of our programs
- Create educational content and lead nutrition and well-being campaigns within the Comuna 13 context
Required Profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and Dietetics
- Experience in community work, especially with children, youth, or families
- Knowledge of public health, food security, and nutrition with a differential approach
- Ability to communicate technical knowledge clearly, empathetically, and pedagogically
- Cultural sensitivity and readiness to work in vulnerable settings
- Availability for in-person sessions on weekends (especially Saturdays)
Desirable
- Training or experience in gender-sensitive approaches
- Knowledge of sustainable, locally sourced diets
- Experience collaborating with universities (internships, research, volunteering)
- Basic knowledge of mental health and its connection to nutrition
