Role Description
The child psychologist will work directly with children and their families in the community who participate in the foundation’s programs. They will support the Girls’ Empowerment School and provide emotional care within other community development and education programs.
Responsibilities:
- Provide emotional support to children in vulnerable contexts with a preventive, educational, and restorative approach
- Design and lead workshops on emotional regulation, self-esteem, self-care, and healthy relationships
- Conduct individual or family counseling sessions as needed
- Provide psychological first aid and emotional support in specific situations
- Support the “Parenting School” with tools for respectful parenting and emotional communication
- Document emotional support cases and coordinate with the pedagogical and community teams
- Participate in emotional assessments and follow-ups for program participants
- Create educational materials and psychoeducational content tailored to the context
Required Profile
- Degree in Psychology with a focus or experience in child psychology
- Proven experience in community work with children and families
- Training or awareness in gender, child rights, and intersectional approaches
- Capacity to work with a humanistic, participatory, and non-pathologizing approach
- Availability for in-person sessions on weekends (especially Saturdays)
Desirable
- Training in play therapy, psychosocial intervention, trauma, or grief
- Experience collaborating with schools, community boards, or social organizations
- Knowledge of family violence, child protection, or parenting skills
