Comuna 13 History Tour

🌍 Experience the Real History of Comuna 13:
An Alternative Tour with Local Voices

WHEN: Saturday March 29 - 9am - 12pm (EN/ES)

This is not your typical Comuna 13 tour. We’re offering a unique, community-led experience that takes you beyond the well-known electric stairs and graffiti streets.

Our goal is to share the real history of Comuna 13—as told by the people who lived through its past and helped shape its transformation. You’ll walk through lesser-known areas of the neighborhood and hear from Sandra, the community leader of Independencia 3, who was born and raised here. She will share her personal journey—what it was like to grow up in Comuna 13, how the community has changed, and the resilience of the people who call it home.

Who is this tour for?

• Visitors who want to learn the authentic history of Comuna 13.

• Those interested in community-driven initiatives and local perspectives.

• Anyone who wants to connect with the people behind the transformation of the neighborhood.

The tour will conclude at the headquarters of Tejedoras de Sueños, a group of local women artists who use art as a form of expression and healing. Their work will be displayed, and while the tour is completely free, we encourage tips or support for their art as a way to give back to the community.

Join us for an unforgettable experience that goes beyond tourism—one that supports local voices, history, and creativity.
